At Dozza, a small Mediaeval town, one can find local and regional produce and also the Regional Wine Cellar which organise guided Wine Tasting visits.
There are some delicious local products typical of the regional gastronomy. : squacquerone, a soft fresh cheese which is an ideal partner for the piedina; then there is the fried crescentina, the 'castrato', honey, pasta produce such as tortellini, tortelloni, lasagne and tagliatelle.
During the summer periods there are many country festivals, le sagre paesane.
For example : the Festa Rinascimentale di Castel del Rio in July, la Sagra del Porcino at Castel del Rio in August - Delicious Mushrooms; and the Barbarossa at Medicina in the 3° week of September with medioeval processions and presentations, banquets and stands where one can taste dishes of that period.
